Internal Referral Workflow
Open a SOAP note
Assessment/Plan (to do a refer you need a diagnosis)
Click Assessment
Select a Diagnosis and it will update to “today’s assessments”
Move to Referrals in the same open window.
Click “Specialty/specialist name/site”
Select “Specialty”
If it is Internal, click “Internal Referral.”
If there is a specific provider include “Provider name” but this is not necessary if you want to Task to a group
Go to the description and select the diagnosis.
Click which services are requested: “Consult” “Evaluate and treat” or “Follow-up and treat.”
Can add a description of the referral in “Clinical Information/Comments.”
Click “Add.”
It will then appear in the “Referrals ordered” box.
Click “Send Task.”
Then another window will pop up and you can select which provider or group for the referral and click add.
The you will assign the “Priority.” Only if it needs immediate response click “High.”
Click “OK” and this will send a Task.
TO VIEW ASSIGNED TASKS:
Click “Inbox.”
Click to “Clinical Tasking.”
For group tasking, once an individua has resolved the task it will be taken out of the Inbox for the whole group
TO CHECK ON THE STATUS OF A REFERRAL:
Click “Templates.”
Click “Order Management,” if it is not showing up make sure that “All” is selected.
Once in “Order Management” click “Referrals” and check the status of the referral.
