Open finder and locate your pictures. Select the photos you want to resize, by highlighting them.
Take note of the photos file sizes to the right.
Right-click on one of the selected photos > Open With > Preview
In Preview > Edit > Select All (to select all the open photos.
Once selected, Tools > Adjust Size...
In the resize menu window, click the Fit Into: Drop down box and select 1024 x 1024, then hit OK
The photos should resize and look smaller, they may look very small after but they have been resized to about 8 x 10 inch size. You can not close out Preview.
All the photo sizes should be smaller now.
